Salsa

In Food Tech we made Salsa to practise our chopping/knife skills. We did a twist on the traditional Tomato Salsa and made it with fruit. We used plums and nectarines. Salsa can be cooked or raw, normally served at room temperature. This salsa is a raw one.

The students were wary of using fruit instead of tomatoes, but they discovered that the combination of sweet, salty and spicy really works! Try it at home and serve it with corn chips!

Ingredients: (to serve 4)

Method:

  1. Finely dice all of the ingredients except the fruit.
  2. Chop the fruit into small cubes.
  3. Mix well with a spoon and serve in a bowl.
